*  Miniature pet portraits can be painted on paper, board or raw silk, and can be sent ready for framing, or made up as a paperweight for £80 (see examples on the Miniatures Gallery I  page).  For framed raw silk paintings please ask for details.

The prices and sizes above are for head and shoulder portrait images.  Full body pet portraits will be approximately 50% extra, depending on size and detail required.  Please note the frame size for multiple images within the same portrait will vary according to the layout chosen.  If you have a particular size in mind which is not specified above, please ask for details.  

There is a charge for painting large harnesses, such as bridles/reins for horse portraits, depending on complexity.

Smaller pets, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds (usually whole body) will be approximately 20-40% less than the above prices, depending on size and complexity.

I am occasionally asked to paint portraits with a background, and I can work from several photographs to achieve this. If you would like a background/favourite scene incorporated into your pet portrait, the cost will be approximately 50% extra, depending on detail involved.

Enquiries and Ordering your Pet Portrait

If you would like to place an order for a pet portrait, or if you would like to discuss anything you are not sure about, please e-mail your details, and I will get back to you promptly. I will then e-mail an Order Form for you to complete. If you know someone who might be interested but who does not have access to a computer, I can also send written details in the post.  I always reply to my e-mail enquiries, so please call me on 01235 529895 if you have not received a reply.

Framing

All pet portraits are sized for framing (see above), and are sent unmounted. This saves on postage costs, and you are able to choose the type of mount and frame that suits your requirements from your local framer. If you would like me to organise framing for you, please discuss your requirements with me. Framing costs are not included in the prices above.

Payment Details

When placing your order I will require a 25% deposit before starting your portrait. I accept payment by cheque or direct bank transfer (preferred and quickest method).  Cheques should be made payable to N Jones,  and sent with your Order Form to the address at the bottom of this page.  I will request the final balance before I send your portrait to you (cheques will need to clear before I send your portrait).

Discount

I offer 10% discount to my returning customers, so please mention this when placing your order.  This represents 10% off the cost of a portrait (as prices above), but does not include framing and P&P.

Postage & Packing

I send most of my portraits within the UK by Special Delivery, which offers a next day service and compensation cover for delay, loss or damage.  Depending on size and weight this will range from £6.00 to £10.50 for unframed portraits, and from £10.50 to £24.50 for framed portraits.  Larger portraits will be sent either by Standard Parcel post or ParcelForce, but compensation does not include damage of glass during transit.  You are welcome to collect your portrait from me if you prefer, or arrangements could be made for me to deliver your portrait to you.  Portraits sent overseas will be sent by Airsure.  All portraits are carefully packed and protected.

Deadline for Completion

I usually have a waiting list of 2-3 months.  However, please discuss any urgent requirements you may have, such as forthcoming birthday, anniversary, or any other special occasion, and I can advise on timescale.  If you would like a portrait in time for Christmas, please book early (July/August).

Gift Vouchers

If you have left it a little late to commission a portrait for a particular date, you might like to consider purchasing a Gift Voucher instead. This allows the recipient to order their pet portrait when they choose. Gift Vouchers are valid for twelve months from the date of purchase, and are available in any amount, in part or full payment towards the cost of a pet portrait, excluding framing and P&P. Work in Progress

Please let me know if you would like to see how your portrait is progressing, and I will be happy to send you images via e-mail. Some of my customers like to do this, others prefer to wait until they receive their finished portrait.

Finished Artwork

Once I have completed your portrait, I will e-mail you with the final image. I request the balance of payment, and once payment has been cleared I will send your portrait to you. If you wish to collect your portrait you may pay me in person by cash or cheque. All your photographs will be returned to you with your portrait, as well as any digital photographs that I may have taken, if applicable.

Please note that all completed original artwork is protected by copyright law, and may not be reproduced in any form (eg, copied, photocopied, used for merchandise, etc) without permission from myself. If you would like fine art prints or other items produced using your portrait, please contact me.

Small Gift Items

I am now offering a range of small gift items to my customers using printed images of their pet portraits. Please find below a list of the products available. They make ideal gifts for family members and friends, as well as additions to the home or office. Postage and packaging is extra, and all items will be sent by First Class mail within the UK. If you have recently commissioned a portrait and are interested in any of these items, please contact me for ordering details.

Guarantee

I feel confident that you will be very happy with your finished portrait but if, for any reason, you are not entirely satisfied please contact me within 14 days of receipt of your portrait and I will refund the full amount to you on return of all undamaged artwork, less postage and packaging costs.
